No comments :

It has been noted that with the continuous changes going around on Facebook the popularity of the platform even got a hike when videos got implemented on it. Well! As we know that every coin has two sides thus, where most of us loved the feature of videos but, not everyone appreciated this auto-playing video feature in Facebook. There is a big problem for those who have limited data plan but, for those who have unlimited data plan, auto-playing videos are no major concern. Initially, where they have launched playing the videos on mute now, they have turned the volume on now. One thing that is good with this auto-play feature is that once, you scroll through the news feed the volume will be up for the videos you are immediately at and once you get past then, the sound will fade away.

This auto-play video sound was not the only update that Facebook announced it also updated the feature of playing the vertical videos on full screen, updated thumbnail based progress bar etc. Although this Auto-playing video feature is great but personally I am not a fan of the auto-playing sound of the video.

There is a way to disable Facebook Auto-playing video sound. Below are the steps to disable the Facebook auto-play video sound:

Turning off the Facebook Auto-Play Sound in IOS

If you are using an I-Phone then, these steps are going to help you turn off the Auto-playing feature of Facebook:
  • Open up the Facebook Application and move to the Last Tab. Go to the Settings and click on the Account Settings. [ you can go to the last tab with the help of account Settings]

  • Click on the Sounds option and disable the “Videos in News Feed start with sound” option. After doing this, the auto-playing video sounds will be muted.

Turning off the Facebook Auto-Play Sound in Android

If you are an android user then to mute this auto-playing video sound option includes following steps:

  • Go and open up the Facebook application and go to the Last Tab using the Hamburger Menu Icon.

  • Now Scroll down to the option of App Settings
  • Now you will find the option of the “Videos in News Feed Start with Sound” and all you need to do is disable this option.
These are all steps that you have to use to disable the Auto-playing sound option of the Facebook news feed.

If you like the new feature of Auto-playing video sound on Facebook it’s good but, if you are like me who does not like this new feature and find it a little annoying then it is suggested you should disable the option to enjoy surfing Facebook. iPhone/iPad Not Charging? Fix the issue right now

No comments :
One of the common problems we often face with our iPhones or iPads is that they don’t get charged when connected with the power or charging cable. There can be several reasons behind this.

Sometimes, it might just be a hardware problem or the battery issue, but, often it’s a software problem which can be eradicated easily. This post will give you a deep insight about all the potential reasons behind your iPhone or iPad not getting charged, with the apt solution for each of these issues.

Hardware Problems

  • Check the Ports
Sometimes, your iPhone or iPad may not get charged due to a faulty USB port or power outlet. This can be one of the valid reasons behind your Apple device’s charging problem when you have connected to a new port or a power outlet.
So, the first step to troubleshooting the problem is by trying to connect your device to a different port, or outlet.
  • Check the Cable
If changing the outlets or post didn’t work, then try changing the cable. You might be using a faulty cable. This would be especially true if you are using a non-Apple certified cable. Such cables stop working anytime, and need replacement.
So, try to change the charging cable with another cable to check out if it is the reason behind the problem.

  • Check the Lightning Port
In some of the cases, neither the battery nor the cable or port is faulty, but still, your Apple’s device does not get charged because there is an accumulation of the dirt, dust or lint on the lightning path. This dust or lint can damage the port and can stop the device from getting charged.

So, the best solution for this is either to use a USB based vacuum cleaner to take off the dust from the lightning port or use a toothpick/ sharp object for removing the accumulated dust by scratching it gently. Don’t over scratch, as it may damage your lightning port even more.

Software Problems

There can be a few types of software issues which prevent an Apple device from functioning normally, and create problems like device not getting charged or other issues. There are many ways to troubleshoot and fix these software issues. The most prominent of those are discussed below:
  • Restart or Force Restart the Device
While you can always restart the device by switching it off and then switching it on. But, if for some reason, it is not getting switched off, you would have to force restart it. This can be done in two ways depending on your device:
  1. If you own an iPhone 7 or above versions, press the power button and the volume down button simultaneously and hold them to keep them pressed for about 10 seconds till you see the Apple logo.
  2. For iPhone 6S or older versions and all the iPads, press the power button and the home button simultaneously and hold them to keep them pressed for about 10 seconds till you see the Apple logo.

    Source
This will restart your phone.
  • Reset The Settings on Your iPhone or iPad
It might be some bug or some newly updated software which is causing the charging issues. So, you can try restarting your phone to uninstall any problem causing elements. To do this:
  1. Navigate to Settings and then the “General” option

  2. Scroll down and tap the “Reset” option

  3. Then click “Reset All Settings

If you have set the password for your device, you would be prompted to provide it and then your device will be reset.

  4. Now a pop-up will appear to ask you to click on “Reset All Settings”. Tap on it
  5. Again, for confirmation, you would be prompted to tap on “Reset All Settings”. Tap on it again.
This would solve out all the problems, including the phone not getting charged. This will not result in any data or media loss.

  • Restore in the iTunes
After you have tried all the above fixes, if the problem still persists, you can try to restore your phone in the iTunes. Sometimes, when your iPhone or iPad is not updated to the latest version of the iOS, you may face the issues with the charging of the device. So, in order to fix this issue, you would need to backup your iOS device and restore it with the help of iTunes.

iTunes is an Apple software that enables you to access your phone through a computer or a laptop. So, if you don’t have iTunes, simply download it. You can type iTunes in the Google’s search box and you would see the links from Apple’s website. Navigate to the link and download the software from there before installing it on your computer.

  1. Connect your device (iPhone, iPod or iPad) to your computer through the data cable or lightning connector
  2. First, right click on Device tab and then click on Backup

  3. Once the Backup is finished, you can click on Restore for restoring the device

  4. Once all the processes are finished for Restore, you can check whether the charging of your device started or not.

However, if after all these efforts, you have not been able to fix the problem, it might be an internal issue. Thus, you would have to contact Apple customer care or the Apple service center to get your device inspected.
Please feel free to share your comments about the above post which helps you to fix the issue when your iPhone or iPad is not getting charged.
